A 15-story, 233-unit luxury apartment building near Maryland Live casino and the Arundel Mills shopping complex is expected to be complete this summer.

The Arundel, an apartment tower under construction by Southern Management Corp., boasts a 24-hour attended front desk, private fitness and business centers, a game room, and a rooftop hybrid indoor/outdoor club room.

The developer is hoping to attract workers from nearby Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport, as well as people commuting to Fort Meade, Annapolis, and Baltimore.

The building, located off Interstate 295 at 7787 Arundel Mills Blvd., is being constructed inside the Arundel Preserve development, which also includes a hotel, a planned 63-acre office park, several retail stores, and restaurants and other apartment buildings.

Vienna, Va.-based Southern Management also operates the nearby Residences at Arundel Preserve and The Palisades, both luxury apartment buildings.

Construction on The Arundel began in April, and is expected to cost $70 million.

The new tower will offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. All units will come with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and sound-resistant walls.

Studio apartments will run between 487 and 647 square feet, while one-bedrooms will run between 680 and 804 square feet. Two-bedroom units will be between 1,100 and 1,134 square feet. No rental rates have been set yet.

Southern Management recently completed construction of a 94-foot-long bridge that connects the fourth floor of the apartment building to the fifth floor of the Hotel at Arundel Preserve.
