The Columbia Bank opened its first full-service branch in Anne Arundel County on Monday at Arundel Preserve.
The 280-acre Arundel Preserve development, in Hanover near Arundel Mills mall, will include office space, retail, housing, and hotels. Most of the complex's retail tenants plan to open in May, including Starbucks Coffee, Arundel Preserve Wine & Spirits, and Red Parrot Asian Cafe. The Columbia Bank's new branch sits next to a Hyatt Summerfield Suites hotel.
"The Anne Arundel County region has been of great interest to us for some time, as we recognize the tremendous velocity of commercial office and retail space that continues to occur to meet the growing demand," said CEO John A. Scaldara, Jr. in a news release.
The 3,900-square-foot branch will feature computers with wireless Internet access. Bryan LePage, former manager of the Columbia Bank's Cross Keys branch, will manage the new location.
The Columbia Bank, with 27 branches in the Baltimore/Washington area, is an affiliate of Fulton Financial Corp. Pennsylvania-based Fulton (NASDAQ: FULT) is a community bank-holding company with $16 billion in assets.
